Project Kushinagar

In the summer of 2015, Sujoy Haldar traveled to Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh to work on public health development initiative. With the help of the Indian government and the NGO VLSKC, Sujoy went to a village where he had the opportunity to aid in the education regarding insect borne diseases by conveying to the villagers the dangers of contracting insect borne disease and the precautions and solutions that the villagers must take when dealing with it. Furthermore, he personally financed the donation of mosquito nets to the over 1000 villagers because they lacked a sustainable resource to provide mosquito protection. While there, Sujoy discovered many other underdeveloped inelastic resources such as fresh water and a sustainable shelter. Today, with the help of other volunteers, he hopes to return to continue this endeavor of socioeconomic sustainability and development.

Project Ramgarh

In the Summer of 2010 Vishnupriya moved forward with the development initiative aiming for environmental sustainability and the use of natural resources. She financed the construction of a rain water harvesting tank and educated students on sustainability by teaching them about the need to plant trees to save the environment from climate change.

In the summer of 2011 Vishnupriya, Sheena and Taylor students from NY went to Ramgarh-India which is at the foothills of the Himalayas. They were committed to helping the girls from Ramghar where they had no water in their school and had to walk miles to get water.  They taught the villagers about Rainwater harvesting and also sponsored the building of a water tank with the help of the local NGO (Chirag).
